Marketing Charts forecasts that in 2008 spending on online advertising in the US will be
$25.9 Billion as opposed to their earlier prediction of
$27.5 Billion.
The earlier forecast was made October 2007 and with the recent economic flip flopping there was a need for an adjustment. This is still 23% more then the spend in the US.... So no fear all you startups :)
The interesting trends are that most online ad spending is for search marketing, but the greatest growth will come from rich media and video advertising...
