How do you develop your products?
Do you have your own developers? Do you do it your self?
Or maybe outsource?
After searching the Israeli market for a decent PHP developer, it came up to me... There are almost non and those who are, are much too expensive.
We now develop a few projects with some Indian companies, we also have an Indian designer and QA engineer.
They work (pretty) fast, good products and so is the communication, as long as you say "kindly".

Well... good work isn't cheap.
I have to agree, good PHP programs are hard to find, I know a few but they are usually self studied young males .
Today I'm a PHP developer, working in high standards and enjoying :) -

Offshore outsourcing to India and East-Europe is a world-wide trend that has reached Israel in the past two years. The issue, as you correctly observed, is less of cost and more of availability of skilled personnel which is becoming scarce in Israel.
My company, employs offshore centers in both India and Ukraine and my personal experience is that offshore to Ukraine is more efficient and creates a better cost-value proposition from several reasons:
- Similar mentality – less communication gaps
- Same time zone – more productive
- Closer location – less travel expenses (and travels make all the difference in efficient offshoring).
